I rarely texted Magnini when there were technical issues bothering viewers, often involving Buffalo Bills games.

Radio News: Listeners to WECK radio (1230 AM, 100.5 and 102.9 FM) noticed that a familiar voice joined the station’s lineup and the station renamed itself “The BIG WECK, Buffalo’s Oldies Station” .

Joe Chille, who stepped down from his full-time morning host role on WMSX (96.1) The Breeze on Friday, works part-time afternoons from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at WECK. He had previously worked briefly at the station.

Bobby O, who was doing the afternoon commute and also doing audio production / imaging work, has been promoted to production manager and will be on air on weekends.

Chille joins a daytime lineup that includes Tom Donahue from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and Roger Christian from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Glenn Topolski, who is the program director, hosts parties.

Tom Langmyer, a native of Buffalo and CEO of Great Lakes Media, a local media acquisition and consulting firm, advised WECK owner Buddy Shula on rebranding and retooling programming and music.

A native of Buffalo and a member of the Buffalo Broadcasters Hall of Fame, Langmyer worked at several stations in Buffalo before taking jobs with CBS Radio and Scripps Media and being general manager of stations in Chicago and St. Louis.
