RESIDENTS have been warned to prepare for severe weather this afternoon with severe thunderstorms developing in the Midwest. The Bureau of Meteorology issued a warning for much of central New South Wales, saying the storms could bring damaging winds, heavy rain and large hail. “A broad upper trough over eastern Australia will contribute to the development of thunderstorms in New South Wales this afternoon, some of which are severe,” the bureau’s warning reads.
