The clouds will become thicker during the day today and the wind will pick up from the southeast this afternoon at 10-18 mph. The weather will not be as good as yesterday but the temperatures will remain above normal. Highs are expected to reach lows in the mid-50s this afternoon.

The big storm system we’ve been talking about all week will finally arrive tonight. It will bring widespread rains to the region. The rain will continue until noon Thursday, so keep your raincoat handy. Up to an inch is likely for many areas. Weather will remain cloudy and windy on Thursday afternoon as temperatures drop from around 50 in the morning to 40 in the afternoon.

The same storm system will be over our region on Friday and it will start to get colder. Scattered flurries are likely on Friday, with the highest chance of a light accumulation being in the southern half of the region. Friday’s highs will be in the upper 30s.

We will have a break from snow shower activity on Saturday and there may even be a few breaks of sunshine with highs in the mid to upper 30s. The next chance of snow will develop Saturday evening through Sunday morning. During this time, there could be an accumulation of light again.

The cold weather will continue with highs in the mid upper 30s on Sunday and Monday, then conditions are expected to turn windy and warmer on Tuesday with highs in the 40s.
