DDC Rajouri reviews functioning of FCS&CA department – Jammu Kashmir Latest News | Tourism

RAJOURI, Jan 29: Rajouri District Development Commissioner Vikas Kundal reviewed the functioning of the Department of Civil Food Supply and Consumer Affairs today at a meeting of relevant officers.
The meeting was attended by FCS & CA Deputy Manager Arief Lone and Tehsil Sourcing Officers.
The meeting held a detailed discussion on inventory, supply position, distribution system, grievance system and other related issues.
Initially, the Deputy Director FCS&CA informed the meeting that sufficient stocks of wheat, rice, LPG, petrol, diesel and other essentials are available in the district. He also informed that the department is supplied with rations through a dozen food stores and 473 shops at fair prices.
The meeting was further informed that the ration cards of all NFSA and non-NFSA recipients in the district have been linked to the Aadhar.
In reviewing the implementation of the electronic public distribution system, it was informed that 90% of the ration in the district is distributed to beneficiaries through the electronic distribution system except for some remote areas where connectivity Internet is poor.
AD FCS&CA also informed that the Department also conducts consumer outreach programs to highlight various aspects of the Consumer Rights Act that influence the daily lives of consumers.
Speaking at the meeting, the SDC asked the agents to serve the consumers in a better and professional manner so that they do not encounter any difficulty.
To ensure that a quality ration without adulteration is distributed to consumers, it was decided at the meeting that the relevant authorities from the Department of Forensic Meteorology will carry out regular checks of fair price stores and take the samples of rations for quality management purposes.
To curb overvaluation, hoarding and profiteering, he ordered relevant officers to carry out regular market checks to curb malfeasance in the district.
