Cyclonic storm

According to observations at 05:30 AM MST today, the deep low over Eastcentral Bay and adjacent to the southeastern Bay of Bengal has intensified into a cyclonic storm “BULBUL” and is centered at about (220) nautical miles west-northwest of Maya. Bandar (Andaman Islands), India, (415) nautical miles south-southeast of Paradip (Odisha), India, (360) nautical miles southwest of Pathein (Myanmar) and (380) nautical miles south west of Gwa (Myanmar).

It is not moving to the shores of Myanmar, the current stage of cyclonic storm “BULBUL” is coded as a yellow stage.

Cyclonic storm “BULBUL” is located at latitude (13.8) degrees north and longitude (89.3) degrees east, the central pressure of the deep depression is (998) hPa and the maximum wind speed is near from the center is (45) miles per hour at (05:30) hours MST today.

Over the next scheduled (24) hours

Cyclonic Storm “BULBUL” is likely to escalate into a Severe Cyclonic Storm “BULBUL” within the next (24) hours and is expected to move north-northwest.

General warning

Due to cyclonic storm “BULBUL”, rain or thunderstorms will be quite widespread in Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady regions and Rakhine State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Thanintharyi regions, Shan, Chin, Kayah, Kayin and Mon and isolated. in Sagaing region and Kachin state with isolated massive falls in Magway, Yangon and Ayeyarwady regions and in Rakhine state within the next (48) hours from today morning.

Occasional squalls with rough to very rough seas will occur off and along the Myanmar coasts. The gusty surface wind speed can reach (40) mph. Wave heights will be approximately (8-12) feet off and along the Myanmar coast.

Due to Cyclonic Storm “BULBUL”, trawlers, ships and vessels off and along Myanmar’s coasts are urged to avoid any possible conditions.
