Fox Weather has named Haley Meier the first recipient of an annual scholarship it distributes with Mississippi State University. The program is designed to support candidates in their pursuit of a career in audiovisual meteorology.

Meier is a junior at Mississippi State, majoring in broadcast meteorology.

“We are proud to recognize Haley Meier as our first recipient of a scholarship from Mississippi State University,” said Sharri Berg, president of Fox Weather. “As we seek to train the next generation of broadcast meteorologists, we are confident that this scholarship will help students take the next step in pursuing their dreams.”

Meier is also a weekend morning weather forecaster at WTVA Tupelo. The scholarship will be applied to his 2022-23 school year.

“I am incredibly honored to have the opportunity to work with such an entrepreneurial organization that is committed to the advancement and continued innovation of meteorological science,” Meier said.

The endowment is established in perpetuity and includes a scholarship, a Fox Weather internship, and mentorship from a Fox Weather meteorologist.

Fox Weather is a free ad-supported streaming network that is part of Fox News Media. It was created in October. ■
