A new round of rain with strong winds is expected to hit most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from Wednesday, the meteorology department said.

According to the details, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has sent a letter to the district administration and relevant agencies. Regions like Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Torgarh, Kohistan, Shangla, Batgram, Buner, Mansehra, Abbottabad and Peshawar are also likely to receive heavy rains.

According to the sources, DG PDMA Sharif Hussain has issued instructions to the district administration and relevant agencies to take precautionary measures and remain vigilant against high winds and rains.

“The series of rains and strong winds are expected to continue intermittently until next Wednesday, June 22, Sharif added. The meteorological service also feared landslides in high altitude areas.

In particular, PDMA has ensured the availability of small heavy machines where there is a risk of landslides and large machines to deal with any untoward incident due to rains and winds.
The PDMA spokesperson asks tourists to take special precautions during the trip and to be aware of weather conditions. He said the public should report any terrible incidents to the 1700 helpline.
