Srinagar records coldest June day in past 7 years: MET Srinagar
Early June 2015 recorded the lowest maximum temperature of 15.2 degrees Celsius

Srinagar, June 21: Srinagar recorded the lowest maximum temperature of 15C on Tuesday, surpassing the lowest maximum temperature of 15.2C recorded on June 4, 2015 in the past seven years, meteorological officials said.
Kashmir Meteorological Department Deputy Director Mukthar Ahmed, in an interview with Rising Kashmir, said Tuesday’s temperature of 15C recorded the lowest maximum temperature in seven years, breaking the last seven-year record of 15.2°C recorded on 4.6.2015.
“The rains in the valley brought the mercury down, but the temperature in Srinagar was recorded as the lowest maximum temperature of 15°C, breaking the record for the past seven years which was recorded as low as 15.2°C. C on 4.6.2015″, he said.
MET Srinagar in an official document said, “Temperature today 15°C, Srinagar has been breaking for the past 7 years. Max. Temp. 15.2°C recorded on 4.6.2015”.
MET officials further said that, as expected, light to moderate rain fell in most places and forecast the precipitation to continue through tomorrow morning.
“We expect a gradual decrease in rainfall intensity after the next 2-3 hours. Significant improvement from the 22nd morning. From the 23rd there is no forecast of significant rainfall until next week” , they added.
