Kasey Reigner will join WTAE-TV this month as the fifth ABC affiliate meteorologist, giving the station bragging rights in a market where four weather presenters are the norm. Reigner, who grew up outside Chicago, majored in Meteorology and Atmospheric Sciences at Penn State, graduating in May 2020. She previously worked for TV stations in Wilkes-Barre / Scranton and most recently was a forecaster at WAND-TV. in Decatur, Illinois., where it offered forecasts on weekend evenings and Monday through Wednesday at 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. She has a family dog named Thunder, but her cat Doppler will join Reigner in Pittsburgh.
At Channel 4, Reigner will work weekend mornings alongside new presenter Tom Garris. Brian Hutton Jr., who had been working weekend mornings since joining WTAE in April, is switching to weekend evenings after Jeff Verszyla’s shift at 12 and 4 p.m. on weekdays during the been with the launch of the 4pm newspaper.
